About the Haynesville Shale

Our associate, Chesapeake Energy Corporation plays a vital role in the development of the Haynesville Shale — estimated to be 3.5 million acres located approximately 11,500 feet below the surface of Northwest Louisiana. A portion of the Haynesville Shale lies beneath Twin Cities Development’s areas of interest in Shreveport, Bossier City and Mansfield. With the advancement of new drilling and fracing techniques in recent years, we are now able to extract natural gas from the shale fields — also known as unconventional gas fields.
